Dawn Adams & Melissa Dart Talk Health Care and Self Care

April 22, 2017

In the latest Exclusive Interview with Candidates running for the House of Delegates, I got the honor and privilege of sitting down with the candidates running in the 68th and 56th Districts. I absolutely ADORE this episode. We got out of the interviewer/interviewee zone and dug into a conversation - which is what I'm always trying to go for and it's magic when it happens. It's hard to let your hair down after the record button has been pushed!

So I talk a little bit about each district in the opening monologue - but I wanted to share the FULL list of Loupassi's Sponsored Commemoration Legislation, and I also want to give you a quick mini-bio for Dawn and Melissa and let you know if you're a Democrat in either the 68th (Dawn) or 56th (Melissa) you can vote for them on June 13, 2017.

Not sure where you vote? Click here, you silly goose!

Dr. Dawn Adams - 68th District
After a 30-year career in healthcare, Dawn understands that investing in preventative healthcare is great for both the patient and the economy. As our delegate, Dawn will help expand Medicaid access for all Virginians who need it. She will also put special emphasis on women’s reproductive health, protecting a woman’s right to choose.

As a 21-year resident of the district, Dawn and her family have enjoyed all the green spaces that it has to offer. As our delegate, Dawn will push for comprehensive city infrastructure, a clean James River, and renewable energy resources to protect our planet. Dawn understands that healthy communities start with the environment around them. For these reasons and others, Dawn has pledged to not accept any campaign contributions from Dominion and Appalachian Power -- and urges her fellow Democrats to do the same.

Melissa Dart - 56th District
With a Masters in Science and Health Administration and 20 years working in the healthcare field, Melissa has expertise in healthcare finance and reimbursement and understands the changes that are needed to make the ACA work for everyone. She knows that there is a difference between “access” and affordability.

This is why as delegate, Melissa would fight to protect the coverage the Affordable Care Act has provided more than 300,000 Virginians, and vote for the expansion of Medicaid to over 400,000 men and women who are currently without insurance.
